TOPIC: looking for a model name for my 62 Dorsett

looking for a model name for my 62 Dorsett 14 years 4 months ago #13418

I recently acquired a 1962 14' Dorsett. the model number is C21 C272. despite researching this boat on my own I cannot find out what this boat was called. It has 90% of the origional hardware including Dorsett badges on both sides, red green bow light, bow cleat, windshield and origional I.D. plate. Also I have a 1970 evinrude ski twin 33hp to go on the transom.

If there is any one out there that could help out I would really appreciate it.

I will post some pictures of the boat tomorrow as I am in the very beginning stages of its restoration.

Cheers

Welcome aboard Mike, we'll look forward to seeing the pics of your Dorestt. We've got a few folks hanging around here who are very knowledgeable about them, I'm sure the pics will help.

mike have you looked in the glassic library, there are 8 brochures there, here is one of them,if yours is a 14 foot runabout, then it is most likely a ski bird.according to a sales brochure there.

mike here are a couple of brochures from the library,it could be a belmont ,if you measured straight down the middle of the boat ,a belmont is 14'6",but if you measured the gunwhale it measures 15'6"check it out.
i tried to post the dealer brochure with all the 62 models and lenghths but i cant, but its in the library.john
