TOPIC: clark craft 11' inboard hydro questions

clark craft 11' inboard hydro questions 13 years 6 months ago #32264

Im looking at a few different vintage plans for 1 to build this fall/winter and I came across the clark Craft 11'er. My main question is motor/drivline. It calls for a 48 cu in motor. When I did some googling I found that they were originally raced with crosley engines. I cant run to the local junk yard to get a crosley so, any ideas what else could be adapted?

Go purchase a Teledyne Military Surplus engine. These were used to power lots of different military equipment from generators to welders..
They are 2 or 4 cylinders, air cooled.

Brand new- or refurbished..

I have a few friends that use them in their vintage pulling (garden) tractors.

You can check around the net for these- prices can vary greatly.
