TOPIC: PennYan with Plastic bottom

PennYan with Plastic bottom 13 years 7 months ago #30983

Does anyone have experience with plastic bottoms on Penn Yan Boats. I came across this one and wondered how you would do hull repair? Would seem like it may be similar to repairing a fiberglass boat.

It looks like you have a Penn Yan Commodore. I've done a couple of those. When you say plastic bottom, what do you mean? This is a Penn Yan Strip-Tite construction. Outer layer is cedar, then a layer of plastic, and an inner layer of cedar.
