From what I see, it looks identical to many of the Gator trailers I have seen and now own. I wonder if it is a Gator with a different name on it.

It says Portager Trailer Company manufactured BT Peterson Brothers Inc.
I had three people tell me it was a Gator though

Peterson Brothers, Inc. WAS the manufacturer of "Gator" brand trailers. So, somehow this is related to Gator.

Maybe "Portager" was a line of trailers they made for a big retail outlet????

Look at the gator brochures in the Glassic Library here, maybe you can discover your trailer????

Then you have a trailer that has a following. Nothing like a well built trailer. I have an Electra and a Tee Nee and the Electra in my opinion is a thin walled square tubed just barely cheaply built thing next to the Tee Nee. It does not trailer well on bumps or waves on the road like the Tee Nee. I have got out of the truck numerous times after hitting an unexpected bump thinking it was bad enough to damage something. I had a strap break once and the bump was not all that bad from inside the truck. If I put even twenty pounds in the tires it bounces all over. You can see it in front of the boat. I was installing a keel skid on the boat.
