Hi folks,
I recently bought a 1959 FeatherCraft Vagabond II on what appears to be the original trailer. I think it is a Gator but not positive. I am new to these older trailers. Where do you find a number on this thing? It is tubular so I take it is a 58 or prior from what I have read so far. It looks to have the look of a Gator. I wish it had the original wheels and hub caps but I guess it's nice just to have the trailer. You should be able to look at the entire album from clicking one of the pics and browsing the rest.

Someone in here has to know about these trailers... Any idea of the year? Where do I find a model number and or serial number? Anyone? Someone? Are the added long pieces of round metal under the tongue and axle a distinguishing feature of a Gator trailer? Should there be round lights on it too?

Nick,
I just obtained what looks like (or very close to) the same trailer. I will be removing the multiple layers of paint in the next few days (weeks) and hope to find some sort of ID numbers stamped into the frame. I will keep you posted on any progress and hope you will do the same for me.

Look on the top of the frame tube just to the front of the right fender mount. Mine has a crudely stamped 8 digit number which I believe is "factory", since mine still has original paint and the numbers were stamped prior to painting.
Mine are hard to see, so any subequent coats of paint would probably cover them completely. Ed
