TOPIC: Sterling Boat Trailers

Sterling Boat Trailers 4 years 11 months ago #141502

Heyo, does anyone know when Sterling boat trailers ceased to be made? I have found them still in business in 1977. The company name was Sterling-Salem Corporation and located at Salem, Ohio. Their parent company was Katy Industries of Elgin, Illinois.

They originated in 1948 as a part of Save-Way Sales & Manufacturing, Inc. headed by Lloyd Parker. In 1962 the firm was purchased by American Gage & Machine Co. of Chicago and the corporate name changed to Sterling-Salem Corporation. Katy bought them in 1970.

I have a pair of very rusty "Sterling" hub caps.
