My trailer under the powercat is a 2010. How likely is it that I would need a spare hub on the road?

How many of you carry a spare hub?

Shouldn't need it if you take good care of the wheel bearings. (Annual clean and repack, and bearing buddies.) For long road trips they might not be a bad idea, some extra piece of mind. I've got a brand new pair of 4 lug hubs (for 1" axles) if anybody needs one (or two), we'll work something out......

My brother rigged a stub axle mount (like a spare) to his trailer so he can have a spare hub at the ready when needed without having it bouncing around in his truck! Pretty cool idea, just thought I'd pass it along.

If I traveled any great distance I would. One good habit I have always done was when trailering even just a few miles I will put my hand on the hubs and feel for heat build up. Unusual heat build up means a problem is brewing. I knew a guy who carried an extra set of bearings and hub in a coffee can. But coffee does not come in three pound cans anymore.

Mine are 5 lug. Oh, the mfg are 4 lug. Are hubs universal?

Well guess I'll get some spares for the powercat trailer. It will go from PA to NY a couple times. And an vacation from PA to NC. May take her to Texas for one of the powercat meets.

That spindle idea reminds me of the one spare tire mount I saw. It was about $70

Never assume they are universal. I had a real weird size on my Electra trailer. I had to order from three sources to get enough seals and bearings to replace them. The rims were weird too. I could never find one to fit for a spare. I hated that trailer.

Thanks Robert as in was looking I found there are a ton of options and different seals. When it gets here I'll take off the old one and compair. Probably repack the bearings while its off.

With all the trouble I had just getting my orphan seals and bearing I copied all the part info numbers and manufacturers on a slip of paper and put it with the title. I treated them like gold with all that pain in the butt problems.
