A friend brought this by today for me to check out. I've been kinda looking for one of these off and on for a while. When I'd find one, something else would come up that needed attention :( I'm goona check for saturated foam under the floor and some other stuff. If it pans out, I'LL prolly get it. Thought I'd throw up some pics on the "Disco Duck" forum :)

Thanks Greg, Yeah, those 250 GM sixes are good engines. My Dad had one just like it in of all things, a '77 Gleaner K2 combine LOL. That was one tough motor. Kinda why I started leaning towards the 165 six instead of the 140 four.

Wow, very good looking boat! If it's half as nice as the pics look I'd buy it! Just started using my Mercruiser 165, so far it's pretty amazing. compared to the outboards I've had all my life, this motor barely sips gasoline.
Good luck!
Bernie.

From what I can see, it needs the side windshields polished and the center windshield replaced( has stress cracks), some buffing and waxing and the rub rail straightened in a few places. Seats are pretty good with some wear of course. Gel coat is good ,but does have some stress cracks here and there. Not bad for 39 years .I'm going to drill a hole in the side of the floor ski locker to check for saturated foam.
Keeping finger crossed. Really don't want to get into cutting the floor out to remove wet foam :(

If the foam is good and it's what you've been looking for, then go for it, assuming the price is reasonable.

I think I'll take it!!! Foam seems DRY to me :) I drilled a hole 2 inches from the bottom of the ski locker in the floor in about 4". This is what I found...
