TOPIC: A big how you doin and a question

I can't believe I found this place . I have always loved old glass boats . I found a 14'6" Dick Schuster . Model 65 serial 8200. The boat was destroyed on the inside but the hull fixable . So we gutted it out and did a deck over for a duckboat . The boats hull is flat and had no keel . but had a piece of casting about midships that looked like some kind of hydrofoil.I ended up putting a keel on it when we rebuilt the hull useing a 2by2 shaped to a vee. my problem is after she plains out the bow jambs down , almost stopping the boat . what did i do wrong . And dose anyone know about this model. thanks BOB

Welcome aboard Bob, have you got any pics of your boat? They might help the gang diagnose your issue. Off hand, I'd ask about a hook in the hull, increased weight in the bow, motor trim position, etc... Since you've done "major reconstructive surgery", it's pretty tough to say without some pics.

Yup your right about the hook , thats why i used a 2by2 for a keel thought it would help straightin it out some .put all weight in the stern, trimed motor raised it , lowered it, still the same. I'll get some pic's up today. thanks Bob
