Alright everyone, First water was today. We worked late last night wiring up the tach and all the other gauges(fuel,temp,trim/tilt,speedo,voltage) had a slight problem today getting the fuel line to stay primed found there was a issue with my connection in the fuel filter I installed so a new line clamp and bleed the line she stayed primed and full of fuel.. The motor was a little sluggish for the first half hour (Time to wake up from a winter sleep) ran some high test gasoline through it cleared the issue up at a 150.00 a liter it was pricey to fill but worth it.. We flew up the Chippawa creek to the Niagara River to Fort Erie with little hesitation.. The speedo read 45mph so I lost 10 mph from last year, probably due to the 26 gal. fuel tank I put there. I was thinking of investing in a Stainless steel prop maybe can get back some lost speed with it... but hell 45mph is really fast as it is..

I want to thank everyone that helped me out with advice throughout the winter without you guys this project would not be what it is today.. I'll keep you all posted with the fine tuning of the overall boat........

Glad to hear the re-launch went well, sometimes the best thing you can do for them is to run them a little to get all the cob webs blown out. High test (premium) will help clean her out, and you may want to consider running some Sea Foam to help even more. I suspect the extra weight of the new 26 gal tank will have some effect on your top end, but the trade off is increased cruising range, right? Anxious to see some in the water pics next time out. ;)

If you just rebuilt the engine it will still be tight, you will likely get your speed back once it breaks in. There is more water flowing in the Niagara river right now so you may be loosing speed due to the higher flow as well. Congrats being back on the water.

Love the lines on the Conqueror 13 years 7 months ago #31174

They look sleek just standing still. Did your boat come with that cut down windshield they used or not? Personally, I like the way they look without them. How does the lack of a windshield effect getting wet? Great boat and continued good luck with it.

I actually rescued this disco glassic from a junk yard so it really did not come with anything except a headach haha. So far I havnt got wet from the water it was dead calm the days we were out. I will find out the next time we go. I did how ever find a flaw in the fuel system. The gas line I put in is not big enough so the primer ball gets sucked in.. I used 5/16 line so I am going to bump it up to 3/4 and see what happens..

The only time I had an issues with the bulb staying primed was when the fuel filter was clogged. It didn't look bad but was the culprit. Blow back through the line to make sure it's not plugged. I just freed up the line on the 1950 GMC pickup that wouldn't stay running. One connection required a drill bit to free it up! You never know, but you're 5/16 line should be fine. Oh, the 26 gallon tank will affect your top end depending on fuel. Figure -3mph for every 150 lbs. too.

It is such an amazing feeling to get out in the water and finally have all the hard work pay itself off... My wife and daughter had a blast in it this weekend as well... all though I still can not figure out the primer bulb it still goes flat on me.. I have went to Evinrude dealer and asked questions and no one seems to know whats wrong for sure... I added a bigger vent line I changed the fuel filter I replaced yet another primer bulb.. It only goes flat at high speed. I tried putting a bigger sized fuel line in... cant explain it... Im confused haha

You said a new vent line? What is that?
It seems there isn't enough air getting into the tank as you are sucking vast amounts of gas out of it.
How is the tank vented?

5/16 line should be fine. My first suspect is a plugged screen in the tank.
