TOPIC: Identify Lake Mead Boat?

I've been watching a lot of videos lately about the situation at Lake Mead concerning the ever diminishing water levels and have become intrigued with all of the exposed sunken boats that are being found. I am wondering, does anyone have any ideas as to what make and model this boat is?

Not sure but this one I’m thinking a Dorset?

Good call on that one, I was actually going to ask about that one also. It does look very much like a Dorsett for sure.
I saw one really cool jet boat in a video and it still had it's tag numbers painted on the bow. I'm sure if one could run the numbers and find out what type of boats these are and who owned them at the time of sinking. I'm thinking that some of those boats found in Lake Mead were sunk on purpose for insurance claims.
Buy an expensive boat, something happens and ya can't pay for it, go out and sink it, claim it was stolen, baddabing baddaboom, pay out!!!!! Who would've ever thought the water level would be so far down that these boats would ever be found? Forget about it!!! Lol.

That clearly is a Glasspar Mariner.


She was spotted underwater before the shoreline disappeared


No mistaking those lines.

Terry, thanks for posting the article. I wasn't familiar with this journey and perhaps dream about replicating it soemday. Unlikely, but perhaps a portion of it.

Correct, there is no mistaking that raised deck detail and forward hatch area. I say great detective work for sure!!!

I think it would be so cool to salvage the boat and restore it. Could really be a hot topic of shows. The headlines would all read "boat once sunk in Lake Mead, drought exposed, now restored to former glory"!!!

Looks like the mahogany survived and you can still see blue gelcoat.

Notice it has the same twin Evinrude setup as the Transco Mariner.
