TOPIC: Just saying hi

HI folks just stopped by to say hello and let you all know a like minded Glassic boat enthusiast is with you. Just purchased a 59 G3 in reasonable condition for its age. If I can get the motor to run it can go to lake, behind some else's truck. Speaking of motors does anyone know how to identify Evenrude motors, I can't seem to find a data plate anywhere on it. Says Starflite V, prior owner said it was a 60hp but wasn't 100% sure. Do they serial numbers and if so where are they located? I'm only curious not planning on running the rude.

The Starlite V, if I remember correctly, were introduced in 1962 or 63 & were all 75HP.
(The Model # & serial # should be on a plate on a bracket near where the OB would fasten to the boat's transom. Also, the SN is usually stamped on the power-head under the hood.)

Welcome aboard, glad to have you here. SATX is right about the serial numbers. Once you find it you can go to marineengine.com and put the number in and it should point you to what motor you have and a parts breakdown.
