TOPIC: Lakes froze, so "lets go on a field trip" !!!

It may be cold ,so nothing like a little field trip!!!! While drinking coffe one morning and searching Craigs list, my wife walks by an said , "thats a cool looking boat". Needless to say i agreeded, maybe i"ll call the guy, yea do !!! Green light !!! So after talking with the guy, and sending photos. I drove 4 hr to take a look. All original two owner, manuals ,original bill of sale,every reciept,
all in a folder,original trailer. A 1975 Glastron V-179 Starflite.

Cut it out you guys! I already have 4 boats in the yard and this one is right in my town. I'm fighting the urge to go look at it because I know it will follow me home.

The one bad thing about Glastron's is that they had bad (insufficient) drainage, if they've been sitting outside they'll more than likely need stringers, transom, and floor replacement. As long as you know that going in, negotiate the price accordingly, you're good to go Norm! (He's asking about double what I would pay for that one.)

Go for it Norm. You know you want it. I saw one just like that two weeks ago in western WI but the interior was completely gone/rotted. The boat was sitting in one spot so long the trailer tires were flat and the 'rude 70 lower was actually buried up to the bullet in frozen dirt. Guy had a $1200. tag on it.
