I need a Mercruiser 165 (the 6 cyl inline) for my 1972 Sea Ray 190. I have found one on Craigslist in Burnaby , Briitish Columbia, just south of Vancouver. The price is right and since I live in Washington it would be no problem to go and pick it up. However, my question is about Customs. I would be importing it into the US. Anybody done this. What's the procedure, any import fees?

I decided not to buy this engine. Too many hassles. Not with customs though, mainly with the seller. I aam very leery of CL to start with and this sounded a bit dodgy so I took a pass.
Just so you know. The rules are very simple if the engine is an exact replacement and over 21 years old. It is exempted from EPA regs and you only need to fill out EPA form 3520-21 (can be downloaded online) and when you get to the border a customs form. They look at it and wave you thru. No fees, no duties. Nada.
