He said it was a 302, not a 312. A 312 is a Y block but a 302 is a fairly "modern" engine that was not available back in 1959 so obviously, it's not original. I wonder what he's asking for it?

If you look at the picture of the engine, it's not a 302. the intake has the opposing carter side draft carbs, the valve covers have the 2 pins holding them on, and the right bank is forward, It's a Y block for sure, and should be original IMHO.

You're right. My mistake. I never even looked at the engine...just went by what he claimed he had. Notice how the cross frame is cut out for the valve covers...and I wonder why the little "points" were left on? It must be tough to remove those valve covers unless the floor lifts out. I'd bet he's in the $20K range on price, possibly higher since it's a Higgins.

You think so? Now you have my curiosity going.... Higgins weren't exactly well made boats, so for this one to be a survivor is pretty rare.
