Yes John,
It is hard to loose a loved one such as Yukon. We have had several dogs ourselves. No wolfs yet but it was hard to see them go.
Yes they are part of the family. :(

Sorry to hear of your loss. About 4 years ago we had to put down our 10 year old Golden Retriever due to cancer. It is never easy. Like you said, they are always there waiting for you at the door only asking for attention. After about a year we decided to go to the Humane Society "just to look at the dogs". After the waiting period we went back to pick up Lucy. She has helped to fill the void. Yukon looked like a beautiful dog.

John
Sorry to here about Yukon.
We had to put down an old friend of 14 years this past summer. A huge Golden Retriever named Meeko. There is just no easy way through it for sure.

thanks neil, and im sorry to here of you and the other fellows losing your dogs too.
we had no chice but to have him put to sleep,he was in bad shape, and we couldnt get him the truck or car to get him to a vet,so i built thr ramp because as walking with just 3 legs ,but as time went on he couldnt even do that, and the only time he wimpered was whe he needed to go outside,he didnt want to go inside,he was great that way.
i tried to keep him as comfortable as possible, wasing fresh carpets and dog pillows evey time he had an accident.
we looked everywhere for a vet to come to the house, but no luck.

finaly yesterday a young vet that was very nice came right out,and he lives a very long way from us, and gently put him to sleep as i pet yukon,he went very peacefuly,i thank that young man for that.

it turns out he works at the vet we use all the time, but is trieing to start his own practice, well he now has new customers when he opens his on practice,he only charged 90 bucks but we gave 120.00 because he was so great,my new glasses will have to wait a little bit,but thats fine with me.john

John,

So sorry to read of your loss. I know how it feels. I'm the one who always has to take care of those issues in my family. And that was one heck of a great looking companion.

All the best..

John,
Thanks for posting the pic, he was a great dog. I'm glad he went peacefully, what a great vet I'd be his first customer also!
