TOPIC: Any folks along the Mississippi?

I've been following this "historic" flooding of the Mighty Miss, and wondering how many forum users may be in its path?
Whoever you may be, wishing you safety, and hoping you are spared the wrath.

My girlfriend and I planned a trip to New Orleans for Marti Gras, but due to work schedules, couldnt go then. BUT, in March, we did get our flights and hotels scheduled... This was the first weekend we had available to go, so come hell or high water, [hoping for neither] we're flying in, on this, of all weekends. Forecast actully looks warm and dry while we are there.

Saw that the water wasnt supposed to crest in new orleans until around the 23, but that with spillways up north being opened, plenty of flooding of farmlands / rural areas. who knows what we'll find! les bon temps roule!
