Looks good John
What brand of biscuit jointer do you have?
I looked at several, Porter Cable was my first choice, but I settled on the Craftsman. It had more user friendly settings for the depth. Seems as though the PC had more plastic parts in the adjustment areas.

Also John.
I work at a planer mill here in Idaho.
Or primary species are Douglas Fir and Hem Fir(White Fir) not Hemlock.
I found a couple of very interesting pieces in thte 2x4 Hem Fir.
It is a leaf scar, which is a characteristic that is rarely found in this specie.
I will take some pictures and send them to you.
I always wanted to make veneer out of them and do a dashboard in a boat.

The mirror looks wonderful. Good job.
Here is a couple shots of that wood.
I have 3 8' pieces.
That trout looks like you caught it when you were ice fishing. :)

The size is a standard 2 x 4 (1.5 x 3.5).
If you would like a chunk of it, I would mail it to you.
I have three 8 foot sticks, and whatever length is mailable, you are welcome to it.

If you e-mail me your mailing address, I will send you a couple chunks.
It is Hem-Fir so it is soft.
Just take it and do your majic, its on me. Don't worry about shipping either. I will get the wheel to you someday and we can do the barter that way if you like.
I would just like you to have it to show off a little with.
