TOPIC: 1st time boat owner

1st time boat owner 11 years 6 months ago #76754

Hello all! I want to first say thank you for allowing me to join your group. As a novice boat owner, I'm sure I will learn a lot here.
I recently bought a 1967 MFG Beachcomber from a guy with a yard full of old boats. I wanted something that would be a good project boat for my sons and I. It wasn't in too bad shape ( hull solid, floor solid, transom seems solid), most of the damage being pitted chrome, no seats, small cracks in the molded seats up front, and bad windshields. In other words, mostly bolt-on work. Well there are some gouges in the gelcoat but I think we can handle it.(Hey, I've done bodywork on a car before, how hard can it be?)
Soon as we get started I'll post photos and the play by play. Ought to make for some good laughs. See you guys soon!
