I have stripped off all the old varnish. The deck still has some weathered areas and had to fill in some of the gouges with a lighter filler. I use Petit Flagship varnish on the teak of my sailboat. With the discolored wood & lighter filler, should I stain first or just build up coats to get a uniform color? The varnish under the bow navigation is just a beautiful color. Guessing that was the original. I sure would like her to look like that again. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
