TOPIC: So which was is forward?

So which was is forward? 10 years 3 months ago #99119

Here is a pic from the manual, indicating how the distributor shaft should be facing when the distributor is properly installed. Of course it is totally ambiguous as to which way (in this picture) is "forward" (forward being the direction of the travel of the motor)

Is forward towards the Top of the diagram (where the words are) or the bottom?

Anyone know?

Thanks Dave,

Its a '63 1000.

The manual talked about it so I thought there must be reason. I was pondering it and could not come up with why it mattered.
