When i pulled the lower unit the top seal stayed in the water tube, does it stay there and just sit on top op the water pump cover? thanks for any help. Hi,
Possibly way too late, but the black rubber grommet should be removed from the water tube, and be fitted back into the water pump housing opening (there is a molded-in lip which inserts into the stainless housing opening). Then, lube the bottom of the water tube (please clean/remove any build-up first that is sometimes present on the copper) before reinstalling the lower unit assembly, ensuring to align the water tube into the top of the grommet as the lower unit is being installed.
