They look to be long shaft motors. The blue & silver one appears to be an early '55 Mark 55.
The red one must be a '58 Mark 58EL.
If I remember correctly, these early long shafts measured about 23" rather than the more common 20" long shaft.

The seller lists them as "racing " motors. What makes them racing motors?

Those do not look like "racing" motors to me if te had the shorty lower to make it an 55h or 58h I would buy it but... Just beautiful engines!

They are not by any stretch racing engines, but are fairly rare as they are longshafts. I wish people would stop marketing any old Mercs as racing engines just to get a higher price from the unwary.
