So as I was removing the last stringer from my mfg I saw the SS decal on my '68 1000.

I "saw" it before but it just clicked today.

So what's the difference between a standard and a non ss?

My serial is 2410077. It checked out as an SS on a parts site.

What d'ya think?

Yes, the difference is in the ignition. Thankfully it can be converted back to the earlier battery powered points system, the early electronic ignitions are expensive to fix when they go bad. If you can find the parts that is.

When I saw as I got excited because the last time I saw that was on my Monty Carlo SS and I thought maybe it was a better performance motor. :b
