Nice find, did not know they existed. Does anybody know of a source for WATER TRANSFER decals for Mercury fours? Don't like vinyl...

I have bought them before, they are very nice indeed!!! Nymarine are cheaper but his are decals with clear epoxy, not the same as the emblems at all. Expensive yes, but worth every penny, there is a lot of work gone into them, they truly are works of art. Originals go for hundreds on Ebay.

Several years ago I bought all new stickers for my '63 merc 850 from nymarine. When I put them on they looked as good if not better than the originals and they still do.

Oh yes, the decals he sells are second to none. But the emblems are very difficult to reproduce without a ton of work, and what Peter does is epoxy coat a decal. Looks good, but if you want true originality you have to pony up for the real thing. Depends on what you want, I have a faceplate with one of Peters decal emblems and it is quite nice, but I like the originals more.

These ones on ebay...are they just epoxy over a decal, or something closer to the real ones?

my understanding is they are molded on original equipment or some such. Not decals though. Send a note to the seller, I am sure he would give you the details.

The ones on ebay from Bob Shapton are exactly like the originals, and they are gorgeous.
They are an absolute must when doing a restoration.

However,...I have found a great use for the ones from Peter at nymarine too.
By gently trimming a smidge off the outer edge, they fit great on the handle of the late '50s - early '60s oval control box.
By use of momma's blow dryer I was able to gently curve the emblem to the curved surface of the control handle, and set it in place.
I'd post a picture, but it is already in Idaho and on the control box of Bill von Tagen's Merc on the red & white Lone Star Monterey seen in the Main Forum's "Really Awesome Car/Truck/Boat Pics" being towed by the red & white '59 Ranchero.

Yep on what doc said the ebay decals. Where I got mine too. Zero complaints.
