Carb brass plug gaskets old inlines? 11 years 2 months ago #83854

Where can I find those little gaskets used with the carb brass drain plugs like in my '63 1000?

Thanks!

Can't ya find them at a plumbing, auto parts, or good hardware store? I dont know what its made from but most washers can be found usually. Fiber, nylon, copper? Good luck...

I thought maybe someone would have a part # and i could try and buy whatever merc suggested. I am NOT gonna buy complete carb kits for one little tiny washer, that just makes no sense at all. So yes, with no response here, it's off to look other places.

Thanks!

If I recall, the "carb packing kit" contains one of those main jet plug washers, but at around $7.00 a kit that's quite a bit to spend for just a silly washer!

I'd run down to the local NAPA or other auto parts store and see what they have kicking around, usually they'll have a whole box full of generic-sized washers, etc.

A fiber washer would be the best choice but a fuel-resistant plastic would work as well. Just be careful when you tighten it down, so as not to distort the material.

Right. Mark's # is the right one I believe. I hope so, as I just bought the last 5 a web store had!

Thanks Mark!
