Due to this engine being a four cylinder , magneto style engine i am lost . Anyone have a diagram of this type of setup ? Would this be a direct hookup or would there be electric modules , signal controllers and such ? The Traveler is coming along very nicely too !

if you have a charging system on it, any modern tach will work, just hook it up to 1 wire from the stator (yellow) and ground set the pole setting and go.

that looks like an earlier merc as the 62's were cloud white with a black cowl. ron

Ron your right. It was cloud white , and many other colors. I have chosen to throw the red paint on the power head , and white on the rest of it,with red on the cushion covers. I am also considering a lexan wrap , after the power unit is totally cleaned, and repainted. But I do intend to leave my 62 700GS cloud white , for as long as I can.

This one i will leave original , since i don't have to deal with white , black and yellow and of course the green primer .The 500 was a mess when i got it . Kind of like the 500 below .
