Been awhile since I checked in. Been busy with many things lately. But a few weeks ago I raised my 1500 short shaft up another 1/4 inch and made a run on a perfect morning

The Carlson Contender ran 80.9 MPH (gps) on my first run out. That was faster than my 79.5 MPH last year.

I made several more runs in the high 79's but never had a perfect stretch of water to let it eeek out the last bit before I pulled out of it due to incoming wakes. It takes me a good 1/2 mile or more of clean flat rippled water to do it safe.

So I finally broke 80. My goal is complete for this stock lower unit. Now on to my XS LWPU unit. That is expected to gain 2-5 more MPH.

Congratulations Conrad. The quest for that extra mile per hour keeps us going.

Here is my slow, but fun, 53 MPH.

That boat looks great.

I started with a 21 pitch prop (that I got from you I think) running 54 or so mph and am up to 30 inches of pitch running 80 mph.

Never would have I guessed this boat would run that fast..... :)
