The paint on the gas tanks purchased in the 1970's was becoming chipped and faded. I used our company's vendors to sandblast and powdercoat three of the tanks. The fourth one in the picture was not redone. Intend to put Mercury decals on later.

Welcome aboard, d! Nice to see you over here. The tanks look great on the outside, be sure to post some pics when you get the decals on, okay? Did you have to do anything with the inside?

Tanks look great. How did you get all the sand out of the inside of the tanks?

Nicely done David! I bet that powder coating will hold up like new for years & years.

The gas cap and fuel pickup were taken off and the openings sealed tightly for the sand blasting and powercoating operations. The inside of the tank was not rusted and was simply cleaned out with soap and water. I put in new gaskets for the gas cap and fuel pickup. Also cut off the fuel indicator rod and float since the rod was rusting. Total cost for the three tanks about $100.

Hi Chris and Mark. Chris I have yet to start working on your prop and I owe you for it.
