What were they for? I figured perhaps meant to create air turbulence to help mix up the air and gas? I've been banging around the idea of something such as that for my '63 1K. Interesting ...... I figured as much but was hoping for more. big chunks of what? The openings are like a 1/4 inch.

maybe I'll waste some (more) time and money and see if I can retro fit one of those propeller shaped things that are meant to spin the air going into the carb for better atomization of the fuel.

Yeah. This winter. Right after I finish that Pertronix conversion...
