TOPIC: 850 on the Crestliner?

Since I had to transplant the 75 hp johnson to the Aristocraft, the Crestliner has an empty transom. So this winter I'm going to tear it down to see if it's worth spending on. Compression is low,but could be rings stuck. Looks like it sat for a long time. A couple pics... Boat ran 35mph with the johnson so I'm guessing it should run around 40 mph with the 850. What do you fellas think??

I thought about that,Dave. I decided to finish out the season by just doing what I did. A very easy and quick swap.I enjoy the Aristo more,so I want it ready to go when I am. If the Merc turns out like I want, it might just wind up on the aristo . Judging by the white mercs I've seen here,I think it would really POP on the aristo too. jim

estamate 45 mph plus with the 850.i had a 15ft aristocraft with a 450 onit and it did 37-38 mph. als had a freind 14 ft with a mark 75 did 45mph.
