TOPIC: mounting bolts

mounting up my '63 1000, on which I now have a mid-eightes PTT. The bolt pattern in differrnt than the original. It think the bolts are 5/8.

The question,; Do I need to get hardened bolts, or can I use your standard home depot zinc plated bolts (will be mounting with 6 bolts)

just stainless is fine.with large fender washers on the inside and self locking nuts is how i do it.

Stainless is plenty strong. Remember to seal around the bolts so water can't seep into the core of the transom.

I agree. I have a '63 850 and that is what I use on mine. I have PTT and have had no issues.
