Traveling the backroads again and ran across a 68-69 1250 longshaft with T/T. Running in '06 when the boat was parked. Did some negotiating and I have to do full tuneups and oil/filter changes on two 4 wheelers and it is mine. Bummer!! ;)
I will have pics soon.

Thanks guys.
Here is the old girl!
I will post some more shots when I get her home and wiped down and hangin' with her brothers!
Oh yeah, I took one of the four wheelers home and changed oil/ filter, put in a new battery, removed and cleaned the carb, new plug, fuel lines and gave her a few shots of grease. Changed fluids in the front and rear diffs., and she runs like a champ. One down, one to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Littlefin
There is one of those deals waiting for you, the time just hasn't come around yet. Keep driving those back alleys with your hand on the door handle, and be ready!

I got her home yesterday and did a comp. test. 0 on No.1. 130 on 2. 128 on three. Did not go any further. Looks like a base hit instead of a home run. T/T works great. So looks like I got a parts motor and T/T for the cost of a couple tuneups. Works for me! :)

64 was the first year to go all black. 62 and 63 there were both black and white in the line-up.

Neil, that 1250 is the last on a few things. mainly its the last of the cross flow pwr heads, a unique style for the timming,it moves to 34 deg and at wide open throttle it moves back 10 or so deg. a very cool sounding engine too. Nice find.

Hard to believe it has been four months already since gettting this 1250. Since then it is sitting. I did get a bare 1250 block from the Good Dr.Frankenmerc. I have been cleaning it up and working on the broken studs.
So the good news is that it is in out of the weather, safe and sound. And the bad would be that it is in need of wrenching like a couple, well few, of the others in the herd!

Neil, I like to put my engines in the oven and bake them for 30-45 min. @300 deg. loosens up the stuck-broken studs. BE carefull of plastic and such. Oh and you may have to send the wife out shopping!
