TOPIC: Source for Gaskets

Source for Gaskets 12 years 6 months ago #60872

Found the gasket sets I need for the water pump on MarineEngine.com, via Sierra Marine, but have to spend at least 10 bucks before they will ship, and the shipping is 10 bucks.
Anyone have a good source?

the Merc Parts
27-32438; pump base to gear housing
27-32433; pump base to face plate - lower
27-32434; pump base to face plate - upper

Try www.boats.net

I order parts from them on a regular basis and they have very reasonable shipping charges. $10.00 and under orders ship for $1.75, it'd be difficult to do better than that!

Seaway is great for hard-to-find parts and I do order from them when necessary, but they sure don't have a "discount" shipping rate. You do get it fast but it's hard to pay $10-15 for shipping on a 2-bit part.

The gaskets you need are pretty cheap but if you were ordering several parts totaling over $10, you could split them into multiple orders to save shipping.

$10.01 to $60.00 is only $6.95 which IMHO is very reasonable considering prices elsewhere.

Here's your parts:

Rebuilt the water pump. Was more expensive than I thought it should be. $23 for the upper and lower oil seals, $18 for the impeller, an new rubber sleeve into which the water tube mounts (down inside the upper half of the pump housing) a few bucks for three years worth of gaskets, $7 for shipping, etc, In the end almost $70. But you gotta have water......

Before

After - even a new plastic guild ( replacing the one that I melted somehow)
