TOPIC: Best transom saver for a vintage in-line six?

Best transom saver for a vintage in-line six? 12 years 5 months ago #60565

Last one I had ate away at the leading edge of my motor. Gonna fix it with some JB Weld, but sure would like some specific suggestions for a transom saver that does not eat up the leading edge of my motor.

Thanks!

Ron, could you look at their website, find the one you have, and send me a link, or post it here? Thanks!

Because it broke. I need a new one, and want something better for my old motor Dave.

Hi,
We stock a Springfield one @ $24.99, and a Swivl-Eze one @ $34.99 (we can convert this one to over-the-roller if preferred). They can be viewed on this page of our website: fergusonpoolemarine.com/trailerpartshitches.html (near the bottom of this page).

The Springfield is good quality.
The Swivl-Eze is hard to beat.

Best Regards,
Joe

Thanks Ron! That sure looks a like a lot better unit then the one I had. I'll get one before Silver Lake. Maybe I'll wait to see if I'm ever gonna get this jack plate on...

I use this one that I got at west marine. Adjustable. The pads never marred the finish (works great to prop open the hood of a car too)

Mine on my in-line 6 Merc 1000. Works great. Similar to the one Ron shows you above. The fork that fits the lower unit is heavy rubber padding. Bought it at WalMarts.

I have one like the Attwood at the website. The pads are a hard plastic, so I use a small rolled up towel to pad it a little more. Been using it for 5 years and hasn't left a mark on my '63 Merc 850.

I had to cut the bar to the right length, but it works great.
