TOPIC: reverse lock

trying to repair reverse lock on my 1965/650 mercury i repostioned the reverse cam in the lower unit so it messed with the fixed cam in the lower unit and it locks but the hooks a touch still on the rod and it is a touch out of N toward Forward not engaged but when you spin the prop it clicks how are these cams to be postioned any diagrams or any other help would be great reverse lock hasnt worked since i purchased motor so i am trying to repair during water pump replacement
