TOPIC: Merc Control

Merc Control 12 years 7 months ago #56204

Does anyone have a MercControl and a wiring harness for a '61 Merc500 they'd be willing to part with?

Here's the control box I'm looking to replace.

Cheers,
Rob

just saw this today, between these and what you have you should be able to put 1 or 2 good ones together

Don't you want a teardrop style for 1961? You might want to PM Dr_Frankenmerc... he has a number of vintage controls in stock.

Thanks Guys for the replies.

Put a bid in on the ebay controls, we'll see if it pans out.

Hi,
Although this may hurt more than help, if the two eBay remote controls are truly for the Merc 110 (9.8 horsepower) application, then the main cam and shift lever are both incorrect for your usage. If they are (the correct cam and shift lever), we have seen a great many of these parts damaged over the years due to trying to force the motor to shift into reverse when not running (shift clutch castellations in lower unit is not aligned with reverse gear castellations), or tilted up for trailering, and the reverse lock hooks are not engaged by the tilt pin. If these two parts are incorrect or damaged, they alone are more cost than double the bid.

Regards,
Joe
