TOPIC: Need help finding prop

Well, I have spent 7 days searching; Craigslist, Ebay, and the marine stores around here in S.W. Mo. Anyone here could lead me where to find a 12 spline LH prop? A 13 X 17 would be best. THX

A prop for what model and serial # ?????

I saw a 13x19 lefty on ebay sunday night

Professor, '59 Mark 78A #1249916. I looked on Ebay everyday. Only found 15 spline props. 13X19 LH 12 spline would be perfect. Will look again tonight

When searching for dockbuster props the easiest way to find them on ebay is search for brass prop or bronze prop. Then start visually digging through the list that pops up. I type in brass prop and I can find 2 dockbuster props with that search alone.

The reason for this is most people dont know what they are for. They most always type in "brass prop" tho because thats what they know. And most people dont type in the spline count either. So searching for "12 spline prop" wont return many results.

I have several props for the 78A.
One is a 2 blade bronze factory stamped as a 15p.
One is a 2 blade bronze factory stamped as a 13p, but also stamped with 'up' followed by a stamped image I can't read followed by 17".
I'm not sure, but it is possible it means 'cupped to 17" pitch', but I can't be sure.
I does appear to have a slight cup to it.
The third prop is a 3 blade bronze factory stamped 12p.

Thanks Dr. Milkdud and all. I did find a original is such good shape you could read all of the stamped numbers, and only very small nicks on the edges. I found it right where yo'all told me to look. It is an A-48-28267A1 12 3/8" X 19 Pitch. Should give my 850# gross runabout around 40 cruise to 45 max mph? Thanks again for pointing me the right direction.

If you got that 19 on ebay that thing looked sweet! And for 25 bucks I just about bought it myself.

Yup, 25 bucks. I needed it. And when it arrived 2 days after ordering, it looked in better shape than I am at 50 years.

Let us know how it works!! Hope you have a tach to dial her in. If not thats the next 40 bucks you need to spend.
