TOPIC: Degreasing Approach

Degreasing Approach 13 years 1 month ago #45428

Didn't like using the caustic engine degreasers on the painted components that I am..... well... painting. So I used "Goop" hand cleaner. Spread it around liberally, let it sit 20 minutes or so. Then using a scotch brite sided sponge scrubbed and wiped around. Hose off, towel off, repeat. Then washed with a in liberal amounts of Dawn Dish washing liquid (using a separate sponge). Patience, just keep going even after you think its done.

I was very pleased. Even the PT&T that was caked with crease come up squeaky clean. My test bed mid section painted up nice with no "grease eyes" (my term for that spot where the paint crinkles because you missed a bit of grease or touched it with your hands)
