Gentleman
I have a shot at this.
Is there anything in particular that I should be concerned with about this motor?
I do not give a hoot about the boat and trailer.
He says it runs fine. T/T and controls also.

Neil, I rebuilt one of these a long time ago. Don't recall there being anything inherently wrong with the design of the motor.

It is a 35-yr-old motor and would of course bear a careful checkout including a compression check. One good thing is that it's still on the boat and you could take it out for a spin and see how it runs. Obviously way overpowered on that boat!

Since it's in Spokane and looks very clean for its age I'd venture that it's a fresh-water-only motor and at least won't be all salted up!

HTH & let us know what you find......ed

p.s. she's gonna have lots more guts than a Tower of Power but Man is she gonna be thirsty!!!!!!

Thanks Ed
This will be my first look at a v-6. I would think that it would have tons of torque.
I thought it to be a fair price if it runs well.
Com. test and test drive will be a must.
Thanks again.

Hey, Neil, while you're over there you oughta drag back this nifty ol' Power Cat with a Merc on the back, can't beat it for $350!

I was just thinking that Neil should add another boat and a few more Mercs to the collection. GO get em Neil!! That 1750 does look nice and clean though. A friend of mine keeps teasing me with an 81 1500 he has had in his shop for some time. I have no use for it but it keeps haunting me... calling me to come look.

Heck Jim, go have a cup of coffee with him and look at the 1500. It just might jump in your truck and come home with ya!
At this point I have lots of boats and motors to keep me busy a long time. It is going to take something VERY special before I buy again. This 1750 just may not be the one.
I would really like to get ahold of a 2.5. But they are not just laying around in back alleys and farmers fields.
