Anyone have an idea what the weight of say Merc 800 with internals may weigh?
Trying to get an idea on shipping costs?

Has anyone shipped similar perhaps could tell me what it cost them?

Double that " guess " and you will be closer to the actual weight.

I would have to disagree...I picked up the complete powerhead off the floor and set it up on my work bench..if it weighed 130 lbs. I would have needed help...

guess I need to find me a scale

The bare powerhead probably weighs close to 100 lbs...

I agree with Chinewalker.

My '67 Merc 650 long shaft weighs 222 lbs with prop on! Thats the complete engine. I believe the powerhead would be over half of the total weight.

An 80hp weighs even more than a 65 due to stouter internals. Figure around 240 lbs for the entire motor.

Never put an 800 powerhead on the scales, but I'd venture to say it's at least 100lbs of that. Cheers.........ed

I think everyone is pushing you in the right direction. At least 100 pounds would be my guess.

Maybe you're stronger than you think... :P
