I appreciate the offer Neil but I think the wife would castrate me if I buy anything else not associated with the restoration of the resorter. Don't know when I could get across to get it.

That is such a kind offer Neil. I surely wish I could take you up on that (and certainly make it your and your inlaw's time and effort worth-while) but I honestly have way too many irons in the fire right now.

The 800 mercury was the only mercury with Chrome raised letters on the top cowl. Kinda hard to find if they are missing. I think I may call this guy and see if I could get it next week, if no one else can make it? I have always wanted a 800. Ill be up that way next week.

The add says the controls are with it also. Even better.
Go get it Conrad. If you get it and decide to go short, I have a short mid for it. I am still waiting on a return call on this one. Called again tonight and left another message. This one has all the letters. Fergeson-Poole has some of those letters for I believe $25 each. Ain't this stuff fun!

There were actually (2) 80 hp models that had the chrome letters.
The 800FGS and the 800DR. The really cool thing about the 800DR top had is that it doesn't have a rewind or the related rope handle hanging out & I don't think it has a manual choke sticking up either. Very smooth lines without those two items. Thom |

Thats exactly why I want it! I dont have a 76ci dockbuster. I have a 60 and two 66's but no 76.
If you look there is only one slide in the bottom cowl. No attachment for shifting. Conrad |
