They actually use grease.....Lubriplate 105. www.lubriplate.com/webstore/detail.aspx?ID=17

But I have used the Lucas 140w. That lower needs a high pressure lubricant. DO NOT USE A MULTI GRADE 90W!!!!!!

Thx All, I didn't have water in my L/U. That lucas 140 looks like what came out. Put it back together and ran w/o prop and still fires up with a tap of the starter button. Still sounds like it's mis firing, more at idle it seems and rougher in reverse. Pulled and gapped plugs and they looked good. They have NGK88s i think and book says J6J. Is that ok? Thx,Joe

UMMM... Did you give us an update on what you found inside that case before you buttoned it back together?

I thought you had some noises/ drive shaft play??

It was min play and I cleaned it up and put it back together and it's not making any noise. Don't ask me, there is no noise now and it's running cool.?????? Joe

Sometimes its good to have no problems:)

J6J should be a B6S NGK

You sure you didnt read B8s NGK? Id get B6s's NGK's or J6J's

From what I saw in the photos Joe...you are definately getting water in your oil! When you say "little play" how much? As I said before, lash adjustment is only .005". That lower needs a tear down....but, it's your motor....
