Nope, sold it to a gentleman in Washington (state) for a fair price.

just out of curiosity did you have weak spark or inconsistent spark? i think I may have figured the problem out.

I wasn't getting any spark at all. Someone had already removed the mercury safety switch somewhere along the way, so I knew it wasn't that. Everything checked out okay, but I never did chase down the cause.

That sucks, sorry to hear that. Did you get a similar engine or something new?

Lets just say it all worked out for the best. I found a great motor (of another brand) that I am more familiar with, 70's vintage that is closer to the year of the project boat it's going on. The guy who bought the Merc is happy, I'm happy, so it doesn't get any better than that without hitting the lottery.
