Went to Portland and made a little side trip and picked up some motors.
The boys.
They are a colorful bunch!

I got home late Saturday night and spent Sunday unpacking, and winding down from the trip.
I will be posting the motors individually her with pics, compressions, serial #'s and years, and all of that inspection stuff.
What I got was a Mark 75 short with controls, a Mark 78 short and a Mark 78A short parts motor. Also an engine stand with wheels that will hold three towers. All for $250.

Neil,
Nice work buddy, that's a nice collection, and one heck of a price!

The Mark 75 is a black label. It is a shorty also.
It is complete as in every nut and bolt and no hack jobs anywhere.
It was pulled,as a running motor, off of a boat that was just falling apart. It has been sitting for quite some time.
This is going to be my first candidate for a COMPLETE restoration.
Being this is the first 6 cylinder that Mercury produced, I feel it is deserving.
This one is going to take alot of time, research, and patience because my goal is for it to be PEFECT. I hope I have it in me.
I will get it pulled back off the rack and get some better shots and it will be in it's own thread here.

Neil,

Let me know your ser no on the MK 75 when you have time. My 1957 MK 75 black emblem also has the straight style decals. Id like to see how close our number are.

Great Score Neil! You keep this up, and we're going to have to get Andrew to make up a "Neil's Merc Museum" or "Tower of Power Hall of Fame" sign for your workshop there. LOL
