TOPIC: Merc 1400 Question

On a Merc 1400, I am installing a new Inner Water Jacket Cover PN 71808.

Are there published specs for what the clearance should be between the exhaust diverters (correct term ?) of this part, and the exhaust baffle plate diverters ?

I seem to have minimal clearance (.004 one end and .006 other end) because this block once had machine work on mating surfaces.
