Would cornhead grease be good in trailer wheel bearings since it has excellent water repelling properties? I have a full tube of the stuff and no old Merc lower units to use it on. Corn head grease is designed to go liquid under pressure, exactly the opposite thst a wheelbearing needs. Check this box to be notified of replies to this topic. NOOOOOO please don't say that. Just cleaned and put the grease in this past weekend, now I have to do it all over again

After searching the net I'm finding that all grease liquefies under heat and pressure, it's just a mixture of soap and heavy oil.
Things to look for with improper grease would be the ooze coming from the bearing caps.
