TOPIC: Distributor cap terminals. Grease or no grease?

Distributor cap terminals. Grease or no grease? 8 years 7 months ago #133550

Replacing my distributor cap and the screw terminal ends of the wires were covered in grease when I removed them from the cap. Smells like cosmoline. I only run on a fresh water lake and store the boat inside. Should I re-grease the connections or leave it dry?

Yes, lube them with dielectric silicone grease.

Thank you for the reply. I had it back together a month ago and left the connections dry when I put it back together. I may pull it back down in a few months and see if there is any corrosion.
