TOPIC: 1957 Mercury Mark 75 No spark

1957 Mercury Mark 75 No spark 7 years 3 months ago #133397

Ok still plugging along on this motor.. replaced timing belt, fuel pumps, plugs, lower end lube, impeller.

Pumps fuel and water. Turns over fine.

Starter button doesn't work and no spark on all cylinders. Are these related problems? I don't read power at the coils or resistors but there is continuity. I have power at the solenoids. Solenoids turn motor when hooked up directly to battery.

Could be a broken wire in the external wiring harness

Would the controls and external wiring harness be worth it to rewire completely?

do a ohm test to see IF a wire is broken.
