Thanks for the reply guys.
George, like Dave said, with the troubles I have had and more importantly, my lack of knowledge, I would rather have someone take a look to make sure each component is working right. Once that is done, I can stop questioning it.
So, I guess in answer to your question, what I'm looking for is to ensure each part of the magneto is working properly.
Just getting that defeated feeling that I'm sure all of us (amateurs) go through when working on these things. Maybe I'll take another shot at it this weekend if I have time.
